Dr. Brian Dowdell
Co-Founder of Tao Medical Spa
Dr. Brian Dowdell started his training at the University of Buffalo School of Medicine where he earned his Medical Degree and Master’s Degree. In addition to his medical studies, he successfully completed his Master’s Thesis in cancer research at Roswell Park Cancer Institute. Following medical school, Dr. Dowdell completed his residency at Stanford University Medical Center specializing in Interventional Pain Management and Physical Medicine. Moreover, he served as assistant clinical professor where he published research and lectured nationally to other doctors in his field. He was the past president of the Brevard County Medical Society and served as a delegate for the Florida Medical Association.
Over the past 16 years, Dr. Dowdell has pursued other medical interests in the field of aesthetics and wellness throughout this country and abroad. His training as an Interventional Pain Surgeon has served him well to morph into an international aesthetic physician. Over the past three years, he and his wife Jennifer, realized their dream of opening a premier medical spa in Melbourne. He currently serves as Medical Director and co-owner of TAO Medical Retreat.

She is passionate about educating patients on best practices to ensure long term results. Dedicated to excellence, Claudia engages in continuous education on advanced injectables, laser treatments, and skincare, ensuring she remains at the forefront of cutting-edge practices in the field of aesthetics. Her approach to patient care is emphasized by her individualized assessments and treatment plans, thus allowing her to create personalized strategies that align with each individual's aesthetic goals. Claudia believes in enhancing natural beauty. She meticulously treats every procedure as a unique work of art.

Dr. Hamel brings over 15 years of diverse nurse practitioner experience, with a passion for helping patients achieve their best version of themselves. In recent years, she has specialized in injectables such as neuromodulators, dermal fillers, and other non-surgical treatments, helping clients achieve their aesthetic goals with precision and care.
Dawn focuses on providing personalized, results-driven treatments that enhance natural beauty. At Tao Medical Retreat, she is committed to creating a comfortable and luxurious experience while delivering the highest level of care.
Heather Dean
Heather a licensed Aesthetician with 16 years of combined experience in the Aesthetic, Dermatology, and Plastic Surgery fields.
This has led her to gain comprehensive knowledge in the dynamic, ever-changing skincare and aesthetic industry. She is passionate about helping others along their journey to self care and believes beautiful, healthy skin is possible at every stage of life.
